CARBIDE TECHNOLOGY
Cutting through limits, forging excellence
What is tungsten carbide?
Tungsten carbide is a substance formed by the combination of tungsten metal and carbon atoms. It is a compound known as WC, with the most basic form being a gray powder.
It is a durable material that can be shaped through sintering and compression, commonly used in industrial machinery, cutting tools, chisels, abrasives, armor-piercing ammunition, and jewelry.
Due to its extremely high hardness, typically ranging from HRA 88 to 92, it is harder than most metals and alloys, exhibiting outstanding wear resistance. It is often used in the manufacturing of cutting tools such as drills, milling cutters, and blades. They can maintain excellent cutting performance and long lifespan even in high-speed and high-temperature environments.
